I also have what I believe is the original leather covered hard case for it.

It's stamped in tiny digits that are difficult to read due to age and some loss of the finish, but it appears to be 1843455. The number on mine is stamped on the ring at the "far" end of the hinge, between the objective lens.
#Carl Zeiss Jena Deltrintem 8X30 Binoculars Serial Numbers serial number#
The serial number on mine is not in the same place as the seen other two specimens seen in this thread. The leather strap has lost one of the "buttons," and someone, long ago, did some careful hand-stitching with slender string to return functionality to the strap. Make offer - Vintage Carl Zeiss Jena 8x30 Binoculars (1975) Sold As Seen Carl Zeiss Gena 8 x 30 Jenopten Binoculars Serial No 4409772 from 1975, Cased £65.00 1d 18h. Mine (inherited from my Dad) had all the motions seized up (focus, IPD, diopter on the right eyepiece). I sent mine to Land, Sea, and Sky in Houston.

Do these older Zeiss binoculars have much collector value? This one does have its original case. That is a very valid point questioning if it is worth having these cleaned vs selling and getting a more modern binocular for use. After doing a bit of looking I don't think I'm brave enough to try cleaning these myself.
